At around 2:50pm on June 3, 2024, an unforeseen slope collapse occurred at Provincial Highway No. 2, 70K+000–350. Experts assessed that rockfall at the slope toe destabilized the rock mass above, causing it to become overhanging and eventually fail completely in an overturning collapse (data from GeoPORT). Following the disaster, relevant authorities carried out emergency rescue and road-reopening operations. With the Directorate General of Highways, MOTC mobilizing all available resources, the lane was reopened to traffic at 2pm on June 10, fully restoring traffic flow. To effectively monitor slope conditions during construction, high-definition PTZ CCTV cameras, a total station and IoT wireless electronic tiltmeters are used for continuous 24-hour surveillance and monitoring, with the automated monitoring system serving as a management reference — enabling timely and appropriate response measures whenever safety concerns arise, in support of driving safety management.

The lane was reopened to traffic at 2pm on June 10, fully restoring traffic flow.

The total station, PTZ CCTV and IoT wireless tiltmeters provided 24-hour continuous surveillance and monitoring data, helping track changes in slope conditions and serving as a safety management reference during the road-reopening operation.
